Types of legal claims you may choose to file could include:

  • Wrongful Death – families who lost loved ones in fire-related deaths may be entitled to compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, emotional suffering, and more.
  • Property Damage – claims can include the cost to repair or rebuild homes, replace personal belongings, and address environmental damage to the land.
  • Insurance Bad Faith – if your insurance provider delays, underpays, or denies your claim without valid reasons, you may be able to hold them accountable for acting in bad faith.

  • Government entities – in some cases, local or state governments may share responsibility if inadequate fire prevention measures, such as failure to clear brush or maintain infrastructure, contributed to the fire’s spread.
